Art League of the Ozarks Quarterly Newsletter, Summer 2007
Awards Won by Members at Art Shows
Five members entered twenty peices of artwork in West Plains, MO, Heart of the Ozarks Fair, July 19-14, 2007 and won fifteen awards:

Art League to Exhibit in Pioneer Days
The Art League will be participating in the Mountain View Pioneer Days on
September 29th. The League will display members art and some will by painting during
the activity. The League will be set up on part of the porch of the Community Center.
President Boyers wants artists to contact him to arrange to display their work.
Planning Progressing on Sixth Annual Art Show
The Sixth Annual Art Show sponsored
by the League will be held at the Mountain View Community Center Friday through Sunday
in March the week after Easter. Members should plan to complete the art in time to
enter. Prospectus for the show will be mailed to members in early fall.
Featured Artists Program Deemed a Success by Businesses
The Art League has begun a program in which a League Artist is designated a
Featured Artist and one of the artist's paintings is exhibited in a local business.
Each month the League will select another Featured Artist who will replace the previous
artist who moves to another business. The plan is to have Featured Artists displays in
four or more businesses. An artist may be selected a Featured Artist again after
completing the circuit through the businesses in the program.
Harlin Museum 32nd Annual Fall Art Show
Members are encouraged to finish artworks to enter in the Fall Art Show held in
the Harlin Museum in West Plains, Missouri. Entries must be delivered to the Harlin
Museum from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm on Friday, September 21st or Saturday, September 22nd.
Reception will be held Sunday, October 7th from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. The show will
open to the public October 9th through October 20th, Tuesdays through Saturdays, from
12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. The show limits entries to eight states surrounding the museum.

Members: The newsletter is for you. It is to get news to you and a means for you
to sound off, brag about awards won and shows entered, mention new shows and get info to
the other members. Please send ideas, awards won and other information to the League's
president until we get an editor.
